Ubisoft released their 2007-2008 sales report today and while the majority of the report is of little to no interest to your average gamer, it does mention when stealth action game Splinter Cell: Conviction might hit stores. Sam Fisher could make his return by the end of the year.
"The results of these efforts will be seen as early as this Christmas with one of the industry's most ambitious games line-ups which will include Assassin's Creed 2, James Cameron's Avatar, Splinter Cell Conviction, Rabbids Go Home and Red Steel 2," said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot in a statement at the beginning of the report. A few pages later, Conviction is listed simply as a 2009-2010 release which means it could come out as late as March 2010.
Conviction, originally slated for a 2007 release, takes place two years after Splinter Cell: Double Agent. Double Agent was released at the beginning of this console generation and thus appeared on a lot of last-gen and current-gen platforms but Conviction has only been announced for the Xbox 360 and PC.
