Today Valve announced that the next player class update to Team Fortress 2 will be released next week for the PC version. The Scout class will receive its new weapons and Achievements on Tuesday, February 24th.
Between now and next Tuesday, Valve will slowly roll out more and more information on the update. Today they revealed the first of three new weapons: The Sandman. The Sandman is a replacement for the Scout's baseball bat which allows you to hit baseballs at enemies. If you hit them in the enemies in the head, they'll be stunned. The duration of the stun depends on how far away your enemy is (the farther, the better) and you can even stun enemies who have been made invulnerable by Medics. There's one catch to using the Sandman, though - you can't perform double-jumps while carrying it.
This is the fourth player class update for the multiplayer player shooter since the game was released in October 2007. Previous updates have added new weapons and Achievements to the Pyro, Medic, and Heavy.
