Tearaway Rips Into Pre-order Bonuses
Tearaway is still quite a ways off from its planned fall launch, but it’s never too early to start talking about pre-order bonuses. And look! Tearaway just so happens to have some.
The latest Media Molecule joint (You know, those folks who made the LittleBigPlanet games), Tearaway is an adventure platforming game built from the ground up with the PlayStation Vita in mind. Players will control their adorable papercraft hero through an adorable papercraft world on a quest to deliver a very important message.
Being a Vita title, the game is all about using unique input methods to interact with the game, including tapping and swiping the front touch screen and poking your finger “through” the bottom screen to directly affect the game world.
According to a post from Community Manager James Spafford on the PlayStation Blog, the team is currently hard at work preparing for the E3 event coming up in just a couple of weeks.
“Most recently we’ve been working on the start of the game, where you’ll first begin your journey along with your new messenger friend,” Spafford said. “The first area that you’ll get to play with iota and atoi is called Valleyfold. It’s a green and pleasant land that draws its inspiration from the English Countryside, and the great wealth of folklore that surrounds it.”
Valleyfold will feature standing stones to explore, a massive apple orchard and even a wassailing ritual for players to take part in in an effort to bring in the apple harvest.
With a release date set for Oct. 22, now might be a good time to start saving up your pennies to grab this Vita exclusive. If you’re looking to pre-order, Spafford also revealed the game’s bonuses, which include a soundtrack with a bonus track, Tearaway costumes for LittleBigPlanet, an exclusive skin for the in-game rideable pig, Avatars for PlayStation Network and a Vita Wallpaper.
