Terminator Salvation Mobile Game: Avoiding Suckanitis

Whether you think Terminator Salvation will suck or rock, there’s plenty of licensed material being coupled in with the movie’s release. A major console rendition of the movie is in the works and it has recently been revealed that a mobile game rendition of the movie is also in the works.
“The Terminator franchise is one of the world’s most recognized brands and Gameloft is pleased to create the game that brings the excitement of the movie to your fingertips,” said Gonzague de Vallois, senior vice president of publishing, Gameloft. "The film provides an optimal environment for our new game and will capture the thrills of the sci-fi adventure for Terminator Salvation fans worldwide."
“Thrills”? He could be getting that confused with “scorn”. Movie-based games have rarely fared well with critics (unless they were paid to say otherwise). So it’s up to Gameloft and distributor, the Halcyon Company, to ensure that the game doesn’t catch the virus known as movie-game suckanitis.
The game will be based on the first of the three new Terminator movies and will release on May 22nd of this year.
We’ll keep you posted on further updates and news regarding the further development of this title (mainly in hopes that it turns out to be better than most games in the genre). For more gaming news, updates and information, be sure to stay tuned in with Blend Games.
