Thomas Was Alone Coming To PS3, PS Vita This Spring
Sony seems to be dead serious about finding their next smash hit via an indie title. Games like Journey and the Unfinished Swan turned out to be major profit-makers for Sony and the company is now spearheading a lot of support and collaboration with indie studios. The latest team-up sees SCEE/SCEA, Bossa Studios and Curve Studios joining forces to release Thomas Was Alone on PlayStation branded devices this spring.
SCEE’s Senior Business Development Manager Shahid Ahmad commented about the collaboration, saying...
The game itself has been making waves since its release on digital distributors for PC. Thomas Was Alone became popular mostly because of the fact that it's a minimalist title that has a highly praised soundtrack from David Housden.
Gamers basically take control of various rectangles who each have a special skill that can be utilized to get through each of the game's challenging and original platforming puzzles. It's crazy, but the simplistic yet pragmatic design actually seems like it would be a good fit for the PS3 and PS Vita.
With Sony now positioning themselves as a developer friendly console manufacturer, I honestly can't wait to see what else they come up with, or who they partner with during the PS4's highly anticipated generational marathon.
