Kalypso Media has released three "early development screenshots" for Caribbean island management sim Tropico 3. The first two games had an isometric view but the series is going three-dimensional this time.
Tropico 3, like the first game in the series, has players play the role of a Caribbean dictator (as opposed to a pirate king like Tropico 2). They must build up an island country while keeping the country's competing factions happy. The game was first announced in November and will be developed by Imperium Romanum studio Haemimont Games. The two previous installments were created by Gathering of Developers.
According to the press release accompanying the screenshots, Tropico 3 will be released worldwide this summer. When the game was first announced announced in November, it was said that it would have a "comprehensive multiplayer mode" (a first for the series) but no details have been released about that yet.
