Transformers: Fall of Cybertron will feature the Dinobots, a popular set of robots able to transform into techno-dinosaurs at will. Including them in the game was a bit of challenge, though, according to High Moon Studios.
In a new dev diary, High Moon explains that they had to beg Hasbro in order to get Dinobots into Fall. The issue was that the game is set on Cybertron but the dinosaurs that the Dinobots are based on are from Earth, the place that the transformers travel to later in the series' history. How would these bots know how to transform into dinosaurs if they've never seen a dinosaur?
High Moon was forced to make their own origin story. Shockwave, the "mad scientist" Decepticon on Cybertron, discovers primordial Earth by creating a portal in space. He then captures a team of Transformers and changes them into the Dinobots against their will.
The result of these experiments? Unbridled awesomeness. Players will be able to take on the role of Grimlock, who can shapeshift between a sword-wielding robot form and a fire-breathing T-Rex form. You can see some of his capabilities in the dev diary, but for an extended look check out this trailer.
