It looks like one of THQ's big E3 announcements has been prematurely revealed. The first trailer for WWE 13 hit the Internet this weekend, offering a bunch of gameplay footage as well as a release date.
The first 30 seconds of go features live WWE footage. CM Punk, apparently the cover athlete for this year's edition, gives a brief monologue as well. If you'd rather skip to the in-game footage, go to 0:34 in the video.
The series of gameplay snippets reveal several wrestlers appearing in the game. Punk will be joined by Stone Cold Steve Austin, Mankind, Big Show, and Undertaker among others. Someone more knowledgeable of WWE could probably recognize a few more.
The trailer claims that the game will launch on November 1st on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. However, the trailer supposedly leaked in Australia so the date might only apply to that country. November 1st is a Thursday, while games generally launch in North America and Europe on Tuesday and Friday, respectively. Perhaps those territories will get the game in the same week, which would mean that it's arriving in North America on October 30th and in Europe on November 2nd. Now that the announcement's been spoiled, we shouldn't have to wait long for official confirmation from THQ.
Update: The October 30th release date for North America is confirmed. A few screenshots and features have been revealed as well.
