Telltale Games is currently developing a second season to their phenomenally successful Walking Dead adventure game. However, writer Gary Whitta says that they might release some new playable content to tide fans over in the meantime.
"Knowing that it’s a way off, and knowing that people are hungry for more Walking Dead, there may very well be more Walking Dead from Telltale before Season Two," Whitta told IGN. "We may have a little something extra for you between Season One and Two."
He's not just talking about a cutscene. During the interview, Whitta mentioned that we would actually be able to play this content. Presumably it's a short episode that serves as a bridge between the two seasons of the game. Maybe we'll get to see what happened to the survivors after the events of Season One. Or maybe Telltale will introduce new characters appearing in the second Season.
Telltale said in January that they're "starting to form the concept" for Season Two. At the time, they said some player choices from the first season may impact the second season. It's just a matter of figuring out how to make the saves transfer over to Season Two.
The first season of The Walking Dead tells the tale of Lee Everett, an escaped convict in Georgia. He links up with a group of other survivors in hopes of withstanding the zombie apocalypse. The season racked up numerous Game of the Year awards and was Telltale's fastest-selling game ever. It's available on PC, Mac, Xbox 360, PS3, and iOS.
