WarDevil, the action-adventure that was said to deliver Hollywood-caliber visuals at 60 FPS, is no more. Ignition Entertainment has killed the game after five years of development.
Develop reports that thirty staff members at Ignition London (formerly Digi-Guys) were let go in the wake of the cancellation. The studio will stay afloat, though. It will serve as a headquarters for Ignition's new focus on digital distribution and publishing.
WarDevil showed the typical symptoms of vaporware. A few teaser trailers were released years back and since then we've seen essentially nothing of the game. If you didn't see the trailers (below) when they were first released, you probably won't understand the hype behind the project. They're starting to show their age a bit.
