Watch Dogs PS4 Gameplay Footage Is Straight Up Sick
Ubisoft stepped onto the stage at Sony's press event yesterday to chat up their newest IP, Watch Dogs. The game is all about information security (or the breaching thereof) and you play as a character who can basically manipulate the information highway to cause some serious damage. The gameplay video is a showcase of one of the most original open-world action titles out there.
Much like the E3 footage of 2012, there's a heavy focus on privacy invasion, digital identification and electronic profiling using common looking devices you might find people holding or walking around with in everyday scenarios. Check out how something starts simple and escalates into something ugly. Check out the footage below courtesy of IGN.
As I was talking to Pete about this situation, the few things that really stand out with the gameplay are the physics. Everything feels and looks so weighty and smooth. It's so amazing to see these kind of effects in play.
However, there is a bit of a silver lining of negativity. As we all know, we've just started to recover from the Aliens 2-12 fallout, and I'm sure a lot of gamers are probably skeptical about any sort of show footage that could potentially be misleading. I'm really, really hoping that Ubisoft isn't pulling a Gearbox in this situation, but I'm sure we'll find out more once E3 rolls around.
Still, the game is looking good and I'm quite excited. You can learn more by visiting the official website.
