New Wii U Bundle Features The Brothers Mario

Nintendo is gearing up to launch a brand new Wii U bundle sporting the publisher’s most dynamic of duos, Mario Mario and brother Luigi Mario. The Wii U Deluxe Set will hit store shelves on Nov. 1, backing the console and copy of the games New Super Mario Bros. U and New Super Luigi U, all for $299.99.

For those who are unfamiliar with New Super Luigi U, that’s the recently released re-tooling of New Super Mario Bros. U. As part of the Year of Luigi celebration, this updated version of the game features Luigi in all of his super-jumping glory tackling decidedly more difficult versions of previous levels. Both games will be packaged on a single disc, which is sure to get a grin out of Mother Nature.

So, what this basically means for folks who would prefer to get a free copy of Nintendo Land with their Wii U Deluxe bundle, you had better act quickly. This new Mario-centric bundle will replace the old version, with Nintendo Land now set to be available as a physical and downloadable game at $29.99. I don’t know what kind of person would rather have Nintendo Land free of charge over a pair of Mario games, but I’m sure such a (crazy) person exists. You can grab Nintendo Land by its lonesome starting Nov. 1, too.

“Mario and Luigi are two of the biggest heroes in video games,” said Nintendo of America Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Scott Moffitt. “This new Wii U configuration gives people instant access to not one, but two of the most well-received Wii U games. It’s another example of the tremendous value and variety that Nintendo is offering consumers this holiday season.”

Some might argue that the Luigi game is just glorified DLC but, seriously, why nitpick over the details when we’re talking about a console that actually has a game packed in with it?

Oooor, for those of you who don’t have an interest in Nintendo Land or the two Mario games, that $300 Zelda bundle can still be found out in the wild. Said bundle comes with a special edition version of the Wii U, as well as a downloadable copy of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD, and a download code for the official all-things-Zelda guide, Hyrule Historia.

Either way, that’s three bundles to pick from. If you haven’t pulled the trigger on a Wii U just yet, maybe one of those packages is just what you’ve been looking for.
