World Of Warcraft Brewfest 2015 Is Now Live

World of Warcraft's special event Brewfest has returned today. The two-week brewing festival lets players earn an array of new items for their characters.

The festivals outside of Ironforge and Orgrimmar offer you a set of Brewfest-themed quests. The most notables ones are the daily ram riding quests. Players ride a ram through the area to make deliveries and spread the word about the Brewfest. The ram has a limited stamina so you have to carefully manage its speed to complete the task on time.

Completing Brewfest quests will earn you tokens that can be spent on pets, toys and other baubles from a special vendor. For this year, Blizzard added three items to purchase:

  • Stout Alemental - Rare, Elemental Battle Pet
  • Brewfest Banner - A toy that attaches a Brewfest flag to your character's back
  • Steamworks Sausage Grill - A toy that allows nearby characters to cook and raises their Spirit by 4.

You can see these three new rewards in the gallery below. Level 100 players can queue up with the Dungeon Finder to fight a special boss, Coren Direbrew. Direbrew and his minions take just a couple minutes to defeat but can drop some valuable rewards. Each time he dies, he'll drop one of six epic trinkets. They're item level 670 this year, so they're ideal for people who want to quickly gear up for Blackrock Foundry or even Hellfire Citadel.

The first time you kill Coren Direbrew each day, you'll also receive a Keg-Shaped Treasure Chest. This chest has a chance at containing one of these rare items:

  • Great Brewfest Kodo - Land mount
  • Swift Brewfest Ram - Land mount
  • Direbrew's Remote - Toy that summons portal to Grim Guzzler in Blackrock Depths
  • Tremendous Tankard O' Terror - One-handed mace with Agility (item level 670)
  • Direbrew's Bloodied Shanker - Dagger with Agility (item level 670)

Brewfest allows players to earn 12 different Achievements for their character. If they earn eight of them, they'll unlock the Brewmaster title. Earning Brewmaster in turn is one of eight steps for the giant meta-Achievement "What A Long, Strange Trip It's Been."

This year's Brewfest could potentially be the only one in the Warlords of Draenor era. Blizzard plans to start the beta test for new expansion Legion by the end of the year. I'd imagine they want to get Legion out in time for next fall, too, to shore up the game's declining subscriber numbers.
