Zen Pinball 2 Spins Onto PSN September 4th
Virtual pinball enthusiasts playing on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita have a lot to look forward to on September 4th, as that is the recently announced launch date for Zen Studios’ mega-collection, Zen Pinball 2.
Zen’s Managing Director Zsolt Kigyossy made the announcement official earlier today via the PlayStation Blog, also announcing that Sept. 4 will see the introduction of a new table in the Zen Pinball library, one based on a PopCap Games mega-hit. That’s gotta be Bejeweled, right? Or maybe Peggle, given the bouncing ball theme?
Anyway, the extra big news comes for anyone who already owns the original Zen Pinball and/or Marvel Pinball. All of your previously purchased tables will be imported into Zen Pinball 2, complete with graphics, physics and social system upgrades, for free.
If you haven’t jumped on the bandwagon just yet, Zen Pinball 2 itself will actually be a free download, giving players a chance to try out all 26 tables before deciding if they would like to make a purchase. Consider it a massive demo with hours of pinball goodness crammed under the hood.
Zen Pinball 2 will also offer new trophies for all tables, all kinds of extra ways to track and show off your scores, as well as new rule sheets to help players really understand how each table works.
Finally, Zen Pinball 2 will be cross platform entitled. If you buy (or have bought) any of the tables for the PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Vita, you’ll get that same content for free on the other console. Not too shabby.
Look for Zen Pinball 2 to finally drop on September 4th.
