21 Gets Another Big Name
A movie about counting cards doesn’t seem like it should get a whole lot of attention, yet we’re paying attention every time a news story appears about 21, based on the book Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions. The movie started out with Kevin Spacey attached – not a small accomplishment, then added “Heroes” favorite Masi Oka to its cast. The big names keep rolling in though.
JoBlo.com is reporting that Morpheus himself, Laurence Fishburne, is joining the cast of 21, although on the opposite side from his previous hacker character. Fishburn will play a security chief who is trying to catch the students who are swindling his casino.
Although the poker craze seems to be dying down, this story just keeps getting more interesting. This is the kind of project could have easily slipped through the cracks but with these cast members coming on board (and Spacey doubling as a producer) the movie has the chance to be really good.
