50 Cent Jumps Back In Ring
After the abysmal failure of Get Rich Or Die Tryin’, you may have thought you were done seeing 50 Cent (er, Curtis Jackson) starring in movies. Sadly, you were wrong; dead wrong.
According to Variety, 50 Cent is back in the Hollywood game, set to star in The Dance alongside Nicolas Cage. The film is based on the 2003 documentary by John Darling Haynes, about the life of prison boxing coach Billy “The Kid” Roth.
Cage will star as Roth, the once-successful fighter who has spent the last 40 years as a volunteer boxing coach in Louisiana state prisons. In a real stretch for 50 Cent, he will play the role of a criminal--an imprisoned boxer who Roth feels has the chops to hit it big. The only problem is that he is serving a lifetime sentence. Oh well, at least he’ll be the scariest of the incarcerated thugs.
The Dance will be written by Neil Tolkin (The Emperor’s Club.) 50 Cent will also star in the upcoming Home of the Brave with Sam Jackson.
