Every year the Oscar committee releases a poster to advertise their annual awards ceremony. Appropriate I suppose, since after all they’re awarding movies. Last year it was a pair of creepy black and white hands clutching a trophy, but for this year’s 79th Annual Awards they’ve done something a little simpler and, in my opinion, more classy.
The one sheet is below, and it’s pretty basic. A trophy, and quotes from famous movies. “Rosebud” gets top billing, but there are more current quotes mixed in there too. I’m not sure “Frodo” actually counts as a quote from Lord of the Rings, but at least you know what it’s from. Plus it’s a space saver. It works. They should do this every year. It feels right.
