Back in February we brought you the news that a book called Pride, Prejudice & Zombies would be turned into a movie, giving movie audiences the chance to see Jane Austen's rarefied world overturned by zombie hordes.

Since then, the book has been a kind of quiet cultural hit, and author Seth Grahame-Smith obviously can't stop rewriting history now. Publishers Weekly is reporting that Grahame-Smith's next book will be Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, which is precisely what it sounds like. It will be the first in a two-book series for Grand Central Press, a deal for which he's making $575,000.

I haven't read Pride, Prejudice & Zombies, but I'll take it on the widespread praise that zombies added to Jane Austen works just great. And if that works, then hey, why not a vampire-hunting Abe Lincoln? Our 16th President is quite popular right now, given all the Obama comparisons. But how much more would we like Obama if he could help us eradicate the scourge of the undead?
