Advertising Glory
I'm still a little bummed that the title of Sci-Fi master Robert A. Heinlein's escapist fantasy novel "Glory Road" is being wasted on yet another dumb sports movie, but then I remind myself about what they did to his work with "Starship Troopers" and I feel a little better about a "Glory Road" movie not being made.
Instead we've got Josh Lucas's Glory Road, based on the true story of Don Haskins, the first college coach to us an all-black starting lineup on his basketball team. Before that, all the teams kind of looked the way the Dallas Mavericks used to before they got rid of Steve Nash. An entire team of Shawn "The Mantis" Bradleys. Now doesn't that sound horribly boring?
So, this Don Haskins guy did a good thing, did us all a favor and made Basketball interesting. They've made a movie about him and we've got trailer links for it. Check out the Glory Road trailer via one of the links below.
