Ain't Them Bodies Saints Gets A Stylish New Teaser Poster

Ain't Them Bodies Saints Poster

We've been hearing a lot about David Lowery's Ain't Them Bodies Saints this year. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this past January to rave reviews, and the buzz has gotten him a gig doing a remake of Pete's Dragon, working with Robert Redford on a true-life crime drama about a lifelong criminal called The Old Man and The Gun, and adapting Brian Michael Bendis' Torso. But for all the positive word surrounding the film and it's director, we've yet to actually see the thing. Fortunately we are now only a few weeks from the movie's release, and with it now screening at the Cannes Film Festival SlashFilm has given us a cool new memento reminding us, premiering a new poster that is painted by the writer/director's brother, Benjamin Lowery.

Both written and directed by Lowery, the indie film tells the story of an outlaw who manages to escape from prison and goes on the run from the law. He heads across the Texas hills hoping to get back together with his wife and the daughter he has never met. The impressive cast includes Casey Affleck, Rooney Mara, Ben Foster and Keith Carradine. The film earned both the Cinematographer Award and the Indian Paintbrush Producer's Award at the Sundance Film Festival and a nominee for the Grand Jury Prize. Lowery is also known for his work as an editor, his work most recently seen in Shane Caruth's Upstream Color.

Aint't Them Bodies Saints will be in theaters on August 16th.
