Altered (In The) States
The latest movie to be given the pointless, hollow irrelevant remake treatment has just been announced.
In 1980, controversial director Ken Russell directed a psychedelic headtrip movie, starring William Hurt as a scientist who messes with his own mind, causing him to genetically regress to an earlier and more dangerous form of man. All in all it was one bizarre headtrip of a movie, like something David Lynch thought about, chewed up then spit out.
So obviously it's ripe for a revisit(!) Word is Warner Brothers wants to create more of a traditional psychological horror than the original and have hired relatively unknown screenwriter Fearnley Philips for scribe duties.
Expect Paul Walker and Halle Berry to star...
