This fall, Jason Lee cashes in all the audience respect and loyalty he’s built up over the years by starring in the new, CGI’d version of Alvin and the Chipmunks. Come on, you remember them. They’re the singing rat eunuchs.
Jason stars in the movie as their “father” Dave Seville, and as if it’s not bad enough that he’s humiliating his fans by actually being in the movie, he’s all over the movie’s marketing materials too. Impawards has a first look at the movie’s poster, and Jason’s head looms over the rather poorly animated, hip-hopped up rodent brothers. I guess that means that this time we’ll have to put up with a chipmunks rap. Isn’t this the kind of role Breckin Meyer should have gotten? Is it too late for Lee to back out? Just think, he could have been doing Fletch right now instead.
