Amanda Seyfried In Talks For Seth MacFarlane's A Million Ways To Die In The West
We are now just a couple weeks away from seeing Seth MacFarlane host the Academy Awards, but while he's prepping for the show he's also quickly setting up his new movie as well. We learned just recently that Charlize Theron has signed on to the comedy western A Million Ways To Die In The West with MacFarlane playing the live-action lead, and now the writer/director has found another blonde to join him on screen.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Amanda Seyfried is now in talks to join MacFarlane's sophomore effort. Should she sign on, she would play the role of MacFarlane's girlfriend, who leaves him after he "chickens out of a gunfight." The story continues from there as the protagonist searches for a way to win back her heart, eventually meeting the wife of an outlaw (Theron) who teaches him how to shoot. MacFarlane co-wrote the movie with Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, who he also worked with on Ted. The production is aiming to start in May, though the film doesn't currently have a release date.
MacFarlane seems to be developing an interesting pattern of pairing older male characters with younger women. Strangely the 12 years age gap between himself and Amanda Seyfriend is the same number of years between Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis. Then again, you didn't really notice the difference in Ted, so hopefully it will work just as well in the new movie.
Seyfried recently premiered Lovelace at the Sundance Film Festival, and has both The Big Wedding and the animated film Epic due out later this year.
