New Amazing Spider-Man Images Play Up Parent Angle, Feature Sleek Logo
Boy, when it rains Amazing Spider-Man information, it really pours down Amazing Spider-Man information. So, Katey went to Sony’s preview screening of a Spidey sizzle reel, which Andrew Garfield attended. She said the footage was impressive, but reminded her of Sam Raimi’s films, which might be unavoidable. But you can judge for yourself when the studio drops a new trailer Tuesday morning at 3 a.m. ET/12 a.m. PT. Or, you can look at the new photos, which were posted at TheAmazingSpiderMan.com. We’re putting them at the bottom of the story.
So far, we’re finding out that Marc Webb’s reboot of the Spider-Man franchise is focusing more on Peter Parker’s relationship with his parents, who we see in a character banner page below. Of course, he’ll still be raised by his aunt and uncle, May (Sally Field) and Ben (Martin Sheen) Parker. But it will be Peter’s desire to learn more about his father (Campbell Scott) that drives him to Oscorp and into the arms (um, arm?) or The Lizard (Rhys Ifans).
I want to see that trailer. These images are fine and all, but we need to see Spidey in action. We want to see the Lizard. Images do some things well, but they only stimulate speculation. We’ll dig into the trailer in detail as soon as it hits the Web. No pun intended. Here are the new photos. What do you think?
