Amelia Earhart Finds A New Director
Hilary Swank’s Amelia Earhart biopic appears to be back on track. The movie was briefly suffering from the lack of a director following Phillip Noyce’s departure from the project – an occurrence that seems to be affecting more movies as of late, despite the writer’s strike limiting available projects.
Moviehole is reporting that the movie will now be helmed by Mia Nair, best known for one of last year’s best movies that you didn’t see, The Namesake. Go check it out on DVD. Everyone I know who’s seen it raves about it.
Swank will play Earhart in Amelia, which will explore the life of the famous pilot, author, and women’s rights pioneer. While I’d love to run the headline that the picture was lost at sea, I’m glad to hear the project has picked up a director again.
