Amy Winehouse Tries To Rhyme Quantum Of Solace
I don’t care much for Amy Winehouse, but a lot of you out there do. Enough people like Winehouse’s music that she’s won Grammy awards, although I guess that doesn’t really indicate quantity of people as much as it just being the right people liking her music.
Winehouse is attempting to muscle in musically on the movie industry. According to BBC News the recording artist is currently working on a track for the next James Bond flick, Quantum of Solace. Her producer, Mark Ronson, confirmed she’s working on a track, but it looks like it’s on spec – they haven’t been officially signed up to do a Bond song.
According to Ronson, Winehouse was approached about doing the song, but nothing’s official yet. "I'm sure there are loads more really famous people that probably we're competing with and we don't know about. I'm not sure.” Still, he says the demo sounds like a Bond theme, which is more than we can say for some of the theme songs that have come about.
As much as I don’t care for Winehouse, I have to wish her luck working on a Quantum of Solace title track. That name sure can’t be easy to work with. Then again, I don’t think I would have looked at Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only, or Die Another Day and assumed a good song could be made with those words in the chorus, and look at the Top-40 hits that came about from those.
