An American Werwolf In London Remake
I thought the Weinsteins were out of money? That doesn’t seem to be stopping them from making movies. Bloody-Disgusting reports that the Weinstein brothers are working on a remake of Werewolves in London.
The original 1981 movie, written and directed by John Landis, was about American tourists in England who are attacked by a werewolf. The survivors start having wolfy dreams.
Landis had owned the remake rights but he sold them to the Weinstein brothers Dimension Films arm and, maybe this is the business they should be in. Though they’re now known for the films of autuers like Robert Rodriguez, Quentin Tarantino, and Kevin Smith it was on a budget genre films like Werewolf which originally put the Weinstein brothers on the map. With The Weinstein Company struggling to make a buck, maybe now’s the right time for Bob and Harvey to get back into the monster business.
