While Andie MacDowell is probably better known for her roles in films like Four Weddings and a Funeral, Groundhog Day and Sex, Lies, and Videotape, lately she's been juggling her feature work with her starring role in ABC Family's fashion-focused drama series Jane By Design. She was also recently seen on 30 Rock in the "Leap Day" episode, and before that, playing the role of Ariel's mother in the Footloose remake. Coming soon, we'll see her in Paul Duddridge's upcoming indie drama Mother's Day. Fittingly enough, her daughter has also been cast in the film.

According to Deadline, MacDowell and her daughter Rainey Qualley are joining Mother's Day, a drama that follows the relationships of 12 mothers and their daughters. It may be safe to assume these two will be paired up as mother and daughter in their roles in the film, however Deadline doesn't specify the nature of their roles.

We could be looking at the start of a pattern here, as MacDowell and Qualley aren't the only mother/daughter duo among this cast. Also set to star in Mother's Day are Susan Sarandon and her daughter Eva Amurri Martino. Two sets of actual mothers and daughters should add a nice bit of authenticity to the story. Also among the cast is Christina Ricci. Details on the characters seem to be slim over all right now, but with six mother/daughter pairings, we should probably expect to hear more casting news on this project at some point in the near future.
