Yesterday a rumor broke out that Josh Hutcherson had been officially tapped to play the next Peter Parker, a.k.a. Spider-Man. The news seemed somewhat peculiar because Hutcherson had said just a few hours earlier that he was committed to Journey To The Center Of The Earth 2 which is scheduled to start filming this fall. The reason it was peculiar is because the reports were dead wrong.
Sony has officially announced that Andrew Garfield, star of The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus and the upcoming The Social Network and Never Let Me Go has officially been named as the new Spider-Man for Sony's reboot, directed by Mark Webb.
