Another Attempt At Elfquest Movie
You can’t grow up playing D&D and loving fantasy novels without being aware of Elfquest, a comic series that started back in the late seventies about a group of Elves seeking out others of their kind and surviving in a world filled with evil humans and trolls. I wasn’t the world’s biggest fan of Elfquest, but I’ve been aware of it for some time.
Hollywood has also been aware of the series, with several attempts to turn it into movies or animated series throughout the decades. They haven’t succeeded yet, but that’s not going to stop them from trying, and Warner Brothers is the latest to give it that old college try. They’ve hooked up with Rawson Thurber (Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) to write and direct a feature length picture.
I don’t know what the hold up has been on an Elfquest movie in the past. The epic story seems ripe for adaptation. Maybe in a post Lord of the Rings movie world this will be the right time for the comic to break through.
