For awhile I was really ecstatic with the way War of the Worlds was taking special care to cater to internet sites, instead of trying to crush them in favor of print magazines with far fewer readers. But the way they’re releasing pictures has become tedious. They’re policy seems to be to release the most boring stills possible to shlubs like us as a way to get free marketing out of us. Then they ask us to send in questions from our readers, only to give the answers exclusively to big corporate entities like Yahoo.
I’ve become so beaten down by it, I seriously considered just ignoring this new picture. I feel like I’m being used, and so is just about every other movie site out there without a board of directors running it. But, if I don’t run the image, you’ll just see it somewhere else. Then you’ll all wonder why we weren’t sharp enough to show it to you… even if it sucks.
So, in spite of my hesitation, here’s the latest boring image from War of the Worlds. Seriously guys, one or two of these was cool, but it’s time to start showing us something besides Tom Cruise’s Urban Outfitters jacket.
