Ant-Man Clips Show Tons Of New Action And That Big Avengers Spoiler
The wait is nearly over! This Friday, Marvel will release its final 2015 film, Ant-Man. As we’re nearing the finish line, the studio has been making one last marketing push for the movie with various previews and promotions. The latest TV spots highlight the fast-paced action moviegoers will see in the story, and one of them even reveals which Avenger will be cameoing - in case you haven’t comes across that information already. Take a look!
Warning: spoilers are ahead!
This video (via CBR trailers) is a collection of three 15 second TV spots mostly showing off action of Scott Lang in his tiny form, from shrinking in the bath tub to riding around on a winged ant. However, the biggest moment comes when Scott comes face to face with new Avenger Falcon, played by Anthony Mackie. Previous trailers made it look like Scott was talking to Yellowjacket when said "I’m Ant-Man," but now we can see he’s addressing one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Both heroes will also share the screen next year in Captain America: Civil War, though whether they will be on the same side during the titular conflict remains to be seen.
This 30 second TV spot gives us a lot of the same action shots and accolades the previous ones did. However, there’s also more humorous moments, highlighting the film’s light-hearted tone. This includes several scenes of Scott’s partner-in-crime Luis, who just keeps talking when he gets overexcited. There’s also a cute moment when Scott refers to his daughter Cassie by her nickname, "Peanut," while she’s being held hostage by Darren Cross. Most likely Scott has just arrived to save Yellowjacket and is trying to comfort her. This will presumably lead to their fight in Cassie’s bedroom, where we’ll humorously see Cross struck down by a fearsome monstrosity: Thomas the Tank Engine. The spot ends with Scott about to dive down a hole, with the ants around him seemingly urging him to jump.
Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man is the last installment in Marvel’s Phase Two slate of films. Its principal cast includes Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne and Corey Stoll as Yellowjacket. The film is already predicted to earn around $65 million at the box office this weekend, so it looks like Marvel will have another hit on their hands.
