The next videogame to be adapted for theaters won’t be Halo, it’s going to be Space Invaders. Well sort of.
Variety says Fox Atomic has run around a circle of actors, yelled goose, and tapped ‘Arrested Development’ star Will Arnett on the head for their new movie Space Invader. While the name is similar to the low-tech 80s videogame, it’s supposed to have more in common with the story of love-crazed Astronaut Lisa Nowak than it does with shooting big groups of pixels with a smaller group of pixels.
Space Invader is a comedy set on a space station, written months before the whole Nowak thing by Mike Lisbe and Nate Reger. Plot details are sparse, but it’s supposed to be about a love triangle, presumably complicated by the confined spaces of space station living.
