The Avengers Assemble And Loki Glowers In New Banners And Image
This Sunday we will finally get to see some new footage from Joss Whedon's The Avengers. It's been a long time since the first theatrical trailer came out - nearly four months to be precise - and Marvel fans have been jonesing for some superhero team-up action. In case the short teaser that we posted for you earlier this week wasn't enough, now we have two new banners and a still for you.
All three images come to us courtesy of Coming Soon, but you may notice something odd going on with the banners. They are almost identical, only one of them has a picture of Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) on the left side while the other has a picture of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders). Considering that Shell Head is easily the most popular character in the Marvel movie universe, this is a very strange move, particularly when the minor members of the team, Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), get to stick around. Check the banners below and head over to Coming Soon to see them full size.
Then we have the new image, which has a character featured on neither banner: Loki (Tom Hiddleston). While this simply looks like a picture of the villain just standing around, I can actually tell you a bit more about it because I saw the footage at D23 last summer. The containment unit that Loki is standing in is on the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier and was built to withstand the power of the Hulk, so they expect it to contain the God of Mischief (whether it can waits to be seen). If this shot is from the scene that I saw during the Disney convention, then he is currently having a conversation with Nick Fury about ultimate power.
The Avengers arrives in theaters on May 4th and for more information about the film head over to our Blend Film Database.
