That Awkward Moment Gets Cute And Cuddly With Zac Efron, Miles Teller And Michael B. Jordan
The stars of the upcoming comedy That Awkward Moment either already are or are poised to be breakout superstars. Zac Efron is already massive, thanks to his Disney roots and subsequent career choices. His new co-stars, Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan, are on the cusp of breaking it very big, thanks to acclaimed movies like Fruitvale Station, The Spectacular Now and – maybe – the Fantastic Four reboot that is rumored to want them both.
First, though, they’ll carry That Awkward Moment together, which has started introducing its characters via individual posters. Efron’s is above, while Teller and Jordan follow below:
Directed by Tom Gormican, That Awkward Moment finds two friends (Teller and Efron) agreeing to stay single in a move of solidarity when their third friend (Jordan) gets dumped. Of course, that’s exactly when the men start meeting incredibly interesting women. Here’s the green-band trailer, which sets the stage for the modern relationship conversation.
Don’t worry. It’s sure to get raunchy. Here’s the red-band trailer that sells the dirty laughs. It’s similar, just with nastier language:
Maybe I watch a lot of New Girl, but the chemistry between the three guys in these clips conjures Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris and Max Greenfield on the Fox sitcom. No?
Teller has been on a fast track to stardom ever since he stole scenes in that Footloose reboot. He gets the best lines in the Awkward Moment trailers, and could be the breakout star of the ensemble comedy. The January release date concerns me, as very few great movies come out in the first month of the year. But we’ll see how the film connects when it opens in theaters on January 31st.
