B.J. Novak Is The Next Inglorious Bastard
Michael Scott’s best friend and former temp B.J. Novak may be the next actor to join the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Bastards. Novak, who plays lackey turned evil overlord Ryan on The Office is in talks to play one of the Bastards in the film, according to HR.
He’s slated to play Pfc. Utivich, a Jewish-American Nazi killer of slight build who hails from New York city. Novak has the slight build down, and who cares whether or not he’s Jewish. The closest Novak has ever come to a war movie before is enduring the condescension attacks of Dwight Schrute on The Office. Maybe he can use all that pent up rage Ryan has to scalp the furor’s henchmen. Weird choice for a Tarantino film, but I like Novak in general. Let’s see what he can do alongside Eli Roth, an even weirder choice, who was announced as one of the Bastards yesterday.
