Proving that no star is too big to take work in a low budget picture you will probably never see, Harvey Keitel is set to join the cast of the Franc Reyes cop movie, The Ministers. The Hollywood Reporter says that Keitel will join John Leguizamo and Diane Verona as the only three people in the movie you will have heard of. Writer/Director Reyes previously made some noise with Empire, also starring Leguizamo, about a drug dealer trying to go straight.
In a story as ripped from today's headlines as anything on "Law and Order," The Ministers is about an NYPD detective tracking down a group of killers known as, you guessed it, The Ministers. They killed her father years ago and she becomes romantically involved with one of the members. This really sounds like something I won't hesitate to consider watching five years from now on basic cable.
Keitel will play a good cop who has a life-changing incident. It's unknown how big a part he will play, but it's good to see the Bad Lieutenant himself back on the right side of the law. Of course, if anyone in the movie shoots him in their dreams, they better wake up and apologize.
