Batman v Superman Reveals Lex Luthor... With Hair
It was just a few months ago that we got our first look at Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and as had been predicted, the actor was sporting a shaved head for his portrayal of the role. What you may not know, however, is that the character isn't bald for the entirety of the upcoming blockbuster - as seen in the new still below:
With San Diego Comic-Con set to kick off next week, Entertainment Weekly has been filling the internet with photos from some of the most geek-friendly titles on the upcoming blockbuster calendar. This includes Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and while earlier today we saw the two titular heroes come face-to-face, and Bruce Wayne dance with Wonder Woman, now we have this brand new peek at the man expected to be the film's central villain.
So what can we glean from this new image of Jesse Eisenberg in character from the 2016 movie? Well, as mentioned, the most obvious new piece of information is that Lex Luthor will have hair for at least one scene in the feature. What this also means, though, is that there is going to be a scene in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice where the supervillain gets his famed chrome dome look. In the 1960s, it was established that Lex lost his hair as a result of being trapped in a laboratory fire - and he wound up blaming Superboy for it, despite the fact that he was the one who saved him. It's not too hard to believe that it could be Henry Cavill's Superman who winds up getting the blame for the follicle loss in the new film.
As of now, we really don't know much at all about Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor beyond his hairstyles. He was visually absent from the teaser trailer that was released earlier this year, and his only contribution was a voiceover line where he said, "We know better now, don't we? Devils don't come from hell beneath us. They come from the sky" (suggesting he already has a deep hatred for Superman). We've heard rumors that the Man of Steel travels to Gotham City to confront Batman in the movie at the behest of Lex, but that has not yet been confirmed.
We will be on the ground in San Diego next week, and you can expect a lot of coverage from what's expected to be a very exciting Warner Bros. panel. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be showing its goods on Saturday morning, July 11th, so stay tuned for our in-depth coverage. Beyond that, get ready for the movie's big theatrical release on March 25, 2016.
