The first trailer for Black Swan the next movie from Wrestler director Darren Aronofsky has arrived and if you haven't seen it yet stop wasting time and click right here. It's an amazing trailer for what's sure to be one of the most complex, layered, fascinating movies this side of Inception. Even the trailer is loaded with secrets hidden in frames that flash past so fast they might be missed. It's the kind of trailer which deserves a closer look.
With that in mind, we've gone through the trailer frame by frame. Below I detail a few key moments from the trailer. Some you might have missed, others which simply bear revisiting. At the bottom of the page below my blather you'll find a massive gallery of nearly 70 screencaps taken from the trailer. Here we go:
The trailer's loaded with sexual tension. There's some sort of seemingly unwanted sexual relationship between Nina, the ballerina played by Natalie Portman and her director, played by Vince Cassel:
And then somehow, even though they seem to be enemies throughout the trailer a sexual relationship develops between Nina and rival ballerina Lilly played by Mila Kunis. It starts here in a cab where Natalie Portman appears almost as though she's drugged and unconscious while Lilly appears to be groping her:
Later Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis end up in a full on make out session:
And this Natalie Portman sex scene explains itself:
Winona Ryder is supposed to be in Black Swan but odds are you missed her in the trailer. She's only in it for a second, and here she is:
The trailer's loaded with all sorts of other worldly, ghostly imagery. For instance there's this strange, raven-like monster:
There's something extremely creepy going on with this reflection:
In this hallway, Natalie Portman appears to pass herself, and somehow changes into a different person. Extremely trippy:
In a club scene Natalie Portman's face changes as the lights flash:
Something horrifying is happening with this picture:
Nina develops scratches and lesions on her back throughout the trailer which grow worse and worse as time goes on. They also seem to switch shoulders. Here they are in all their stages:
Note that she appears to be pulling a piece of a feather out of the scratch in the last one, and whatever's going on with her has apparently affected her eyes:
