Blade Runner 30th Anniversary Collector's Edition Comes With A Flying Car (Sort Of)

It's hard to believe that it's been 30 years since Blade Runner was released. I missed out on it the first time around since I was all of four years old at the time, but when I finally discovered it in my teenage years I fell for it hard, and it's still one of my favorite movies. When the "Final Cut" was released a few years back, I remember sitting in theater with my jaw on the floor and thinking that it looked as good as or better than any movie produced in recent years. The movie's influences with regards to style, tone, design, and theme have been felt in countless movies since. Now Warner Bros. is celebrating Blade Runner's birthday in style with a massive 4-disc Blu-ray collector's set that includes five versions of the film (including the workprint), two behind-the-scenes books, brand-new content, and your very own flying car. Well, a model of Blade Runner's iconic "Spinners," anyway.

Blade Runner has already been released on Blu-ray several times, including the Final Cut edition and the five-disc Complete Collector's Edition. That being said, it's no surprise that they're dipping into the well again to commemorate the anniversary. This new anniversary set will hit shelves on October 23rd. Whether it's worth dropping $65 to get this new version will pretty much come down to whether you want the extra goodies. Here's the official description:

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, Warner Home Video (WHV) will end the film’s moratorium with the debut of a beautiful new commemorative 4-Disc Blu-ray™ + DVD Combo Pack which also includes an Ultra Violet (UV) copy of The Final Cut feature.
