Anytime you have a very hot blonde chick in a movie called Riding the Pine you’d think it would unleash a torrent of “boy, she can ride my pine anytime she likes” type comments. Especially if the hot blonde chick is Jaime King who has made a splash in movies like Pearl Harbor and Sin City by being more a pretty face (and body) rather than an actual acting person. But we try to have a little class here, so no comments comparing any parts of my body to the “pine” that King may be riding.
Moviehole.com says that King will star with Justin Chatwin, Tom Cruise’s son in War of the Worlds, and Matthew Long. Riding the Pine is about two brothers who take a road trip after one of the brothers contracts a terminal illness. It’s not spelled out in the article but since King is a girl it’s more like that Chatwin and Long will play the brothers and King will play some sort of female character.
There is no reason to think this will be any better than the hundred other road-trip movies released in the last 30 years. The director is Jeff Woolnough, who has directed tons of television episodes (primarily dramas like “C.S.I.,” “Las Vegas,” and “Battlestar Galactica”) and TV movies but is a novice on theatrical films. Everything has the smell of “direct-to-DVD” but perhaps enough Jaime King fans will want to see her to get Riding the Pine into a theater near you.
