Brian Dennehy To Make Directing Debut
Brian Dennehy has spent the last 30 years creating a vibrant career in Hollywood due to his amazing supporting roles in films like First Blood, Silverado, F/X and Best Seller0. Now at the age of 71, when most people would be retired and thinking about other things in their life, he has decided for a career change and is now set to move behind the camera for the drama Redemption according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Based on a true story, Redemption will tell the tale of Joyce Ann Brown, a Dallas woman who spent nine years in prison after she was convicted of a fur store robbery and a murder that she didn’t commit.
This seems to be a perfect film for him to start on. It’s a film you would expect to see Brian Dennehy act in then direct due to his long history of doing true life stories about small town people taking on large corporations. So he’s starting on familiar grounds and should be able to create a watchable drama. If it's not, it should appear on one of those “True Life Stories” channels that my mom always watches.
