Pedro Almodovar’s movies are often gorgeous and quirky, odd but beautiful. And while he is both a talented director and writer, it’s hard to not credit a lot of his success to how well he and Penelope Cruz work together. He’s admitted that she is a muse for him, and given the amount of films they’ve done together, it shows.
Their newest film together is Broken Embraes, a tale about a man who gets into brutal car crash, loses his love, and now has two separate identities. I wish I could summarize more of it for you but even the Apple description is the length of an essay. Now the first trailer has been released and while it’s hard to figure out exactly what the film is about, it looks amazing. As does Penelope Cruz.
