Flop after flop after flop, Broken Lizard just won't freakin die. Warner Brothers has fed their false sense of popularity by picking up another one of their projects, a spec script called Funny Fat Guy from BL members Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme.
Variety says the movie is about a fat man who embodies the flabby dude stereotype as the life of the party and everyone's favorite mascot. Sick of being a big fat joke, he decides to transform himself into something else.
Since he's the group's designated man of heft, Kevin Heffernan will star in the film. And that is the only real good news here. As much as Broken Lizard movies suck, Heffernan is always the troupe's one real bright spot. Till now, he's mostly been shoved into the back while other, much less funny members took the spotlight. With Heffernan writing and starring, maybe Broken Lizard can finally deliver more than five funny minutes.
