The world of action movies is soon going to become a very confusing place for those of us who aren’t familiar with anime. Several anime TV shows have received green lights to be made into feature length pictures, many of them being converted to live action, like the upcoming Dragonball Z movie. Another Tokyo-based cartoon is about to receive the same treatment: Bubblegum Crisis.

Announced by Variety, the project will be a joint venture between Anime Intl. Company and Cubix Intl., who intend to make a live action adaptation of the hit series, maintaining the look and feel of the original product.

Here’s where I’d tell you about how excited or disappointed I am in this news, but I really don’t care one way or the other. If the story is good I’ll see it, regardless of its anime roots. If it’s not, I won’t. The fact that the original series has spawned several other shows (prequel AD Police Files and sequel Bubblegum Crash) sounds promising though.
