Given that he was the head of the FBI from the day he founded it in 1935 to the day he died in 1972, J. Edgar Hoover came across a slew of notable historical figures, from John Dillinger in his early career to the last President he served under, Richard Nixon. So it makes sense that J. Edgar, Clint Eastwood's biopic of the man starring Leonardo DiCaprio, would include a wide range of famous names as well; it seems that every day some other actor is announcing which boldface name from the past they'll be playing in the film. Josh Lucas is already on board as Charles Lindbergh, and now Burn Notice star Jeffrey Donovan has announced via Twitter that he'll be playing Robert F. Kennedy.
Though Hoover famously clashes with Kennedy's older brother when he was President, and investigated JFK's assassination, it's unclear why Eastwood might be focusing on Hoover's interactions with Robert Kennedy as well. It seems safe to assume they'll be casting another actor as JFK, though, which is where things might really get interesting. It's also worth noting that in his tweet Donovan refers to the film as Hoover, which had been an earlier title for the film; is Eastwood changing his mind again, or is Donovan just mixed up? I admit I've had a hard time keeping track of the title myself, so I can't blame him either way.
Though J. Edgar, or Hoover, or whatever is still filming, Eastwood and his notoriously quick production schedule pretty much guarantee we'll be seeing the film later this year.
