Cameron Reunites Space Marines
It’s been ten years since James Cameron has taken on the feature film and fans couldn’t be more excited about his return – especially since it’s a return to his roots with a super-effects sci-fi spectacular. Avatar may still be a couple of years away, but it is easily going to be one of the most anticipated films until it comes, especially with this rumored news.
Ain’t It Cool News is reporting that they’ve heard from numerous sources that Michael Biehn, who worked with Cameron in Terminator, The Abyss, Terminator 2 (if you count deleted scenes), and Aliens, will be involved in Cameron’s Avatar. They also have an alleged scoop that Ms. Alien herself, Sigourney Weaver, will be joining the cast.
The scooper’s source on Weaver is a French talk show the actress recently appeared on. She talked about making another sci-fi pic with Cameron, although she wasn’t specific on the title. Cameron does have another film off on the horizon, an adaptation of Battle Angel, but since all the talk recently has been of Avatar it would be easy to assume that’s the movie Weaver was talking about.
This is incredibly exciting if it comes true. These are actors who already know what a hard-ass director Cameron can be, so it’s not likely that they’d leave the picture after he gets rough on them unlike a newer face. Considering the excellent stories this actor/director combination has brought in the past, I’m even more excited about Avatar if these casting rumors prove to be true.
