Captain America: The Winter Soldier International Trailer Takes Another Look At The Marvel Hero
In the race for biggest trailer, it's hard to argue that Joe and Anthony Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier didn't take the top prize during the Super Bowl last night, but it turns out that the big spot wasn't all Marvel has for us this week. Reaching out to fans overseas, Marvel UK has debuted a new international trailer for the upcoming blockbuster, and it's a cut we haven't seen before.
Admittedly most of this footage comes from mixing both the original theatrical trailer and the Super Bowl spot that premiered last night, but there are two very quick sequence that we actually haven't seen before. First up with have this quick shot:
Weirdly enough, this is actually the first shot we've seen so far of Emily van Camp as Agent 13, a.k.a. Sharon Carter. At this time we have no idea what kind of role she plays in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but she is a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, and from the looks of things she has some kind of relationship with both the titular hero and Alexander Pierce, the big-wig played by Robert Redford.
This next shot isn't a HUGE reveal, but it does interestingly show both Cap and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) in a setting that's a bit more intimate than normal. It would appear that the two characters have been forced to get a hotel room together after some kind of incident. Exactly what's going on isn't 100% clear.
In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which is based on a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the titular hero finds himself continuing to adjust in the modern world following his incident during World War II and the Battle of New York. He searches for his place in the world working as a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent alongside Black Widow, but after a series of events he begins to wonder if he's actually fighting for the right side. Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Hayley Atwell and Samuel L. Jackson all co-star in the film alongside all of the names mentioned above.
Still can't get enough Cap? Watch the previously released trailers for the movie below and look for the new film in theaters on April 4th.
