New Captain America: The Winter Soldier Poster Arrives, Trailer Premieres On Thursday
Remember late last year when I pointed out that just about every movie studio out there is abusing the "back to the camera" design for posters? Well, the trend appears to be ready to continue into 2014. The official Captain America: The Winter Soldier Twitter account has launched the first ever poster for the new movie, and it features star Chris Evans in a very familiar pose.
But that's not the only bit of awesome news we have for you today. With Thor: The Dark World heading into theaters in the coming weeks (as soon as October 30th in some markets) we knew it was only a matter of time before the first trailer for the Captain America sequel was going to be announced and now it has. While we don't have a specific time for the launch just yet, the first ever preview clip will be online this Thursday October 24th on Apple. We will have it for you here the moment it pops up, so be sure to stay tuned.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the new film follows the continuing adventures of Steve Rogers (Evans) as he tries to find his way in the modern world after being frozen in ice for 70 years. Working as a S.H.I.E.L.D. field agent alongside Black Widow (Scarlett Johannson) Cap believes that he may have found his niche, but his work uncovers secrets that make him wonder about the organization he's working for. Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, Hayley Atwell and Toby Jones will all be back to reprise their Marvel Cinematic Universe roles as Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Agent Carter and Arnim Zola, respectively, while Sebastian Stan's Bucky Barnes will be resurrected as the titular Winter Soldier. New additions to the franchise include Anthony Mackie as Falcon, Frank Grillo as Brock Rumlow a.k.a. Crossbones, Georges St-Pierre as Batroc The Leaper, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter a.k.a. Agent 13 and Robert Redford as Agent Alexander Pierce, a senior leader in S.H.I.E.L.D.
We're just as excited as you are for the Captain America: The Winter Soldier teaser, so to help you prepare check out some of the awesome previously released concept art from the film below!
