Tomorrow marks the arrival of Casino Royale in American theaters, where it'll face stiff competition from the new computer animated movie Happy Feet. Most are predicting Casino Royale will win out, but just barely.
Over in the UK things are different. The film has already opened there, and done record business.
Casino Royale hit in the Britain on Thursday, and made an amazing $3.2 million in ticket sales. That's the biggest opening for any James Bond movie ever in the United Kingdom, 54% higher than the last Bond movie Die Another Day. Two-thirds of all the movie tickets sold in Great Britain were for Casino Royale.
In order to top Die Another Day's first day totals in the United States, Casino Royale will have to beat its $47 million opening weekend.
